FAQs

Questions people ask before they commit

Can I remove my pool to build a granny flat?

Often, yes. Full removal with engineered backfill is the usual approach when a granny flat or studio is planned over the pool area, subject to the granny flat approval and your engineer's requirements for footings.

Are sandy soils a problem?

Sandy soils in suburbs near Cronulla, Kurnell and Woolooware drain well and are easy to excavate, but backfill needs careful compaction and groundwater can sit higher in some low-lying areas.

What about sloping waterfront blocks?

Pools on sloping blocks in Como, Oyster Bay, Yowie Bay and Burraneer often involve retaining walls, stairs and limited access. They are priced from the site after inspection.

Do you remove fibreglass pools in Menai and Illawong?

Yes. The 1980s and 90s estates around Menai, Illawong and Alfords Point include many fibreglass pools, usually removed in full.
